How You Can Be Santa's Helper for Homeless Pets |
This winter, our local shelters need your help more than ever.
The Calhoun County Animal Center is working tirelessly to keep all its residents, from dogs and cats to all the other animals they care for, safe, warm, and happy until they find their forever homes.
We have a unique opportunity to act as Santa's helpers and ensure the shelter has the essential supplies it needs to care for its beloved animals, especially as the cold weather approaches. A Crucial Winter Need: Pet-Friendly Ice MeltOne of the most immediate and urgent needs this time of year is pet-friendly ice melt, or "pet-friendly salt."
Traditional rock salt contains chemicals that can be extremely harmful to an animal's paws, causing irritation, burns, and serious digestive problems if they lick it off their feet. The shelter relies on a large supply of safe, chloride-free ice melt to keep walkways, play yards, and entry areas clear of ice while protecting the paws of every animal who walks on them.
Donating this specific item is one of the most important ways you can contribute to the direct health and comfort of the animals right now! The Full Wish List: Everyday Essentials and ComfortThe Calhoun County Animal Center has provided a full wish list of supplies they need to maintain their high standard of care. By donating any of the items below, you are making a tangible difference in the life of a homeless pet:
How You Can HelpYou can help the Calhoun County Animal Center fill their "Santa's Sleigh" in a few ways:
