The Humane Society of South Central Michigan (HSSCM) has recently updated its gallery with new photos and descriptions of adoptable pets, inviting the Battle Creek community to find their perfect companion.

Each animal at HSSCM receives comprehensive care, including spaying or neutering, microchipping, and vaccinations. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, while dogs over six months undergo heartworm testing and receive monthly heartworm and flea prevention treatments.

Prospective adopters are encouraged to visit the shelter's website to complete an adoption application. Applications can be found under the "adoptions" tab at HSSCM.org. Once submitted, the shelter will schedule an appointment for you to meet your potential new family member.

In addition to individual adoptions, HSSCM participates in community events to promote pet adoption. For instance, during the annual "Empty the Shelters" event, adoption fees are reduced, making it more accessible for families to welcome a new pet into their homes.
