🐾 One Woman’s Big Heart: How Conny Wissenback’s Dream to Save Animals Sparked a National Movement Including here in Battle Creek! |
Through Local Newsletters and a Love for Animals, Conny Wissenback Sparks a Movement of Compassion Across America, Inspiring The Cereal City Animal Alliance. |
By Smiling Stu – Cereal City Animal Alliance
In the bustling heart of Las Vegas, where style and community meet, one woman is proving that compassion and creativity can change the world, one rescue story at a time.
Conny Wissenback wears many hats, or should we say hairstyles.
As a talented hairdresser and loving mother, Conny built a reputation for bringing color, confidence, and joy to her clients.
But her passion extends far beyond the salon chair.
Driven by a deep love for animals, Conny dreamed of one day creating a ranch where shelter animals could live out their lives in comfort and peace.
While that dream remains on the horizon, she refused to let it stay just a dream. Instead, she turned to her greatest strength, her voice and platform.
Through her popular local publication, West Valley Shoutouts, Conny began a small section called “Save the Doggie”, a heartfelt space dedicated to highlighting adoptable pets, animal shelters, and rescue stories.
That small section quickly grew wings.
Today, SaveTheDoggie.com has become a standalone newsletter and website devoted entirely to animal welfare.
It shines a spotlight on the needs of shelter animals, promotes adoption, and celebrates the incredible people working tirelessly to give these animals a second chance.
But Conny’s impact didn’t stop there. Her mission to save shelter animals has inspired others across the country.
Now a growing network of local newsletter publishers who are following her lead.
Many have added “Save the Doggie”-style sections to their own newsletters.
Some, like our very own Cereal City Animal Alliance, have gone even further, creating entirely separate newsletters dedicated to the cause.
Our journey here in Battle Creek began just like hers, with a small “Homeward Bound” section in our Cereal City Buzz newsletter.
Thanks to Conny’s example, it has now blossomed into the Cereal City Animal Alliance, a community committed to helping local animals find loving homes.
Conny’s story is a powerful reminder that one person with a big heart and a bold idea can spark a movement. ❤️
By combining her professional skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and love for animals, she’s building a legacy of compassion, and it's one that’s inspiring communities across the country to get involved, take action, and give shelter pets the love they deserve.
So, next time you read a rescue story or see an adoption post in your local newsletter, remember:
It all started with one woman who cared enough to do something.
